Shifttelle · terms of use
A personal reminder tool — not the official schedule, not professional advice.
Shifttelle is a personal shift calendar and reminder app built for nurses, healthcare workers, and other hourly shift workers. By installing or using the app, you agree to the terms below. They exist to be clear about what Shifttelleis, what it isn't, and the limits of what its reminders can do for you.
Not the employer’s official schedule
Your hospital’s schedule is the source of truth — Shifttelle is not.
Shifttelle is a tool you maintain yourself. The shifts on your calendar are entered by you, and the reminders fire from the schedule you built. If you accidentally mistype a start time, miss a swap, or forget to add a shift,Shifttelle will not catch it — there is no live feed from your employer.
Always confirm your upcoming shifts against the schedule published by your employer — the timekeeping system, the staffing office, the posted roster, or whatever official channel your unit uses. Shifttelle complements that official schedule; it does not replace it. If the two ever diverge, trust your employer’s schedule.
Not medical or legal advice
Nothing in Shifttelle is professional advice.
The information, reminders, and shift-handling tips surfaced in Shifttelleare general informational tools. They are not medical advice and not legal advice. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified clinician, a labor attorney, your union representative, or your employer’s HR or staffing office.
Any decision about whether to work a shift, swap a shift, accept mandatory overtime, decline an assignment, or take an on-call day is your decision — and yours alone. If a work-related question has clinical, legal, or policy-sensitive dimensions, talk to the appropriate professional before acting on what the reminder told you.
Best-effort reminders
Reminders are best-effort. They can be missed.
The reminder loop in Shifttelleis a convenience, not a guarantee. Notifications depend on your device's notification system, your network connection, your operating-system focus and battery settings, your notification permissions, and your notification sound and Do Not Disturb configuration. Any of those can delay, suppress, or skip a reminder entirely — sometimes for an entire shift.
In particular: phones in Do Not Disturb or Focus mode can silence reminder notifications; battery-optimization settings on some devices can defer background delivery; airplane mode or spotty cellular coverage can hold a notification until signal returns; and a misconfigured OS-level alarm channel can prevent the pre-shift alert from firing at all. Shifttellecannot override any of those settings on your behalf.
Because of that, do not rely on Shifttelle reminders as your only way to know a shift is coming. Use the on-screen calendar as the primary check, and cross-check against your employer’s official schedule as described above.
No warranty; limitation of liability
Shifttelleis provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shifttelle disclaims all warranties of any kind — express or implied — including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from data loss.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shifttelle will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app — including missed shifts, missed swaps, missed overtime opportunities, scheduling disputes with your employer, or any other work-related consequence of a missed or delayed reminder. The total aggregate liability of Shifttelle for any claim arising from the app or its reminders is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve (12) months before the claim.
In short
Three limits, every time you open the app.
Your employer’s schedule is the source of truth. The app provides general informational tools, not professional advice. And reminders are best-effort — they can be delayed, suppressed, or missed. Keeping those three limits in mind is the entire agreement.
